Pirates of the Caribbean Canopy and Tours are a family operated business that is
located in the safest environment right next to their home. Owners, Irwin and
Valjean Dixon; have been operating their zipline since 2006 and have been
offering Island tours ever since.
Valjean is the fifth generation from her ancestor Governor Uwins Elwin that was
sent by Queen Victoria to govern the Islands while under British rule and before
being traded for British Honduras now known as Belize. Irwin and Valjean were
born and raised in Roatan and know more than anyone about the island and what it
was like before it became a tourist stop. We ensure English speaking tour guides
that are also native to Roatan and know the history of the island.
Our
guides are willing and happy to share the history of their island and country
and since they have lived on the island all their lives they know and appreciate
the island best. All our guides are well acquainted with scenic places to stop
and take photos or souvenir shopping and if you want to experience the savory
island cuisine, our guides will take you to the best restaurants for some
delicious island food.
Our island's wild life is typically visible while driving through the
green foliage Roatan is known for and it is not uncommon to see iguanas or
guatuzas (island rabbit) cross the road right in front of your eyes. Also,
please feel free to stop by the Pirates of the Caribbean Canopy to meet Pancho
the friendly monkey and all our staff who are happy to assist you in any way.
Pirates of the Caribbean are very proud to be the only Ziplinning Company to
offer TWO different and fun ziplines on the Island and the only one to offer the
Extremely Extreme Zipline that is the highest and longest in all of Central
America and the Caribbean.
